Dancing with the Stars!

It was four seasons ago when Princess was with her grandparents and looking for something to watch on tv. She arrived back home and kept talking about the dancing show. Great, I thought - another stupid, reality, vote show.

But then I got hooked, along with the rest of my family. So last night at 8pm, all four of us gathered in the living room to catch the season premier of Dancing with the Stars. We don't watch a lot of tv at our house, and it's rare we all watch something together (because there are just so many Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Drake and Josh, and Hannah Montana episodes I can stand). Being the ratings bonanza it is, ABC has stretched it out to 3 nights (really wish they would have kept it to 1 hour episodes twice a week), so we only saw the women contestants last night. I hadn't seen Jennie Garth in a while, and she looked great. She was such a skinny teenager, but she's a mature mom with three girls and thankfully a very pleasant size. The skinniest of them all, model Josie, definitely needed to work on her physical shape. Jane Seymour was incredible - 56 years old and so excited to be there. And who couldn't pull for Mel B? I always liked the Spice Girls (and yes, I will admit that), and after Eddie Murphy kept saying nasty things about her when she was pregnant with their child and the DNA proved him wrong - how could one not pull for her? Cheetah Girl Sabrina was great and so energetic - nice to see an average size girl who can move like that and radiate such enthusiasm.

However, my fave is Marie Osmond. My first crush was on her brother Donnie. Still have a couple of their albums. I remember crying when he got married. My bedroom was purple, and I can still sing, "She's a little bit country. I'm a little bit rock n' roll..." Marie is now 46 with 8 children (don't even remember how many were adopted), but still bubbly and entertaining. Go Marie!!

Is that Marie Osmond or Jenny Garth in the picture?

Oh restless - did they not have tv in Fville when you were growing up? Of course it's Marie!! (Jenny is about 10 years younger and a blue-eyed blond with a cupie doll face).

So if you didn't have a thing for Donnie, who was it back then?
